Marisa Christiano, CBrE

Marisa is a certified childbirth educator, doula, and lactation educator.  She is affiliated with Brio Birth.  She has been teaching classes and attending births since 2006.  Marisa has three children, two of her children were born in a hospital setting and the third was born at home.

"Pregnancy is a unique time in a woman’s life as well as in a couple’s life.  Giving birth can be a miraculous and life changing event.  My life changed in many ways when I gave birth to my first child in 2005. When I spoke with my doctor about the type of birth experience I wanted to have, he suggested that I take a natural childbirth education class.  I learned so much by taking classes from an independent childbirth educator and had such positive birth experiences that I just knew I had to become a teacher myself!  I believe it is important that a woman and her partner understand all aspects of birth including the mental, emotional, spiritual, as well as the physical aspects.  I believe that attending childbirth education classes is important because these things are vital to how women give birth.”
